Minoru Masukane (88) Brawley, California-born Nisei resident of Torrance peacefully passed away on January 2.
First Japanese-American soldier to receive an Honorable Discharge for being awarded 4 Bronze Stars from the United States Army in recognition for his service to his country during World War II.
Beloved husband of Lucile Masukane; father of John (Jean) Masukane, Shirley Ross and Edith (Yo) Yamasaki. Grandfather of 6. Also survived by many other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 11, 10:00 AM, at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena.
