Megumi Osa, 88, Los Angeles-born Nisei and longtime resident of Gardena, passed away peacefully in his home on November 27, 2013 after a brief illness. Public funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 10:00am at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena, CA
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he is survived by his wife Toshiye; son Howard (Harumi Shiozaki) Osa of Tokyo, Japan; daughters Susan Osa and Carol (Michael) Okuda; grandchildren Hayato Shiozaki Osa and Ryan Okuda; sister Misako Sasaki; brother-in-law Yoshiaki Honbo; nephews Alan (Jennifer) Honbo, John Honbo, Norman (Janet) Sasaki and Ron Sasaki; and many other relatives in Southern California and Japan.
Megumi Osa was a good man, and lived an active life, enjoying bowling, growing vegetables, taking care of his immaculate lawn, and daily morning walks with his wife. His family will be forever grateful, and he will be dearly missed.
