Memorial service for Matsuji Hamanaka, 83-year-old Hilo, HI born resident of Gardena who passed away on Sept. 16, 2012 at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, was held on Thurs. Sept. 27 at Green Hills Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Nobuo Miyaji from Gardena Buddhist Church officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Kiyoko Hamanaka; son, Glenn Hamanaka; brothers, Hisao (Akiko) and Yoneo (Jane) Hamanaka of Hawaii; sister, Yukie (Albert) Yamamoto; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
