Private memorial services were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" for the late Masaru Frank Yoshida, who passed away on July 30th.
The 91-year-old Los Angeles, California born Nisei resident of Arleta, was a former internee of Amache Relocation Camp and veteran of World War II who proudly served his country as a member of the "Go For Broke" 442 RCT.
Services were officiated by Rev. Clifford Ishigaki, with a special flag presentation by Mr. John K. Wakamatsu, president of the 100th/442 Association.
Mr. Yoshida is survived by his wife, Margaret Yoshida; children, Patricia (Timothy) Silverlake, Jerry (Cece) Yoshida of Washington and Dawn Yoshida of Hawaii; siblings, widow Yoshiko (Shigeo) Tashima, Kiyo (Toshio) Yamabe, Shoji (widow Ai) Yoshida (deceased), and Aiko (Yoshio) Yamabe (both deceased); grandchildren, Perry Silverlake, Jennifer (Eric) Lorant, John (Michelle) Silverlake, Lucas (Stephanie) and Alex Yoshida; great grandchild, Samantha Silverlake. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
