He is survived by his loving family; brother, Tsutomu "Tootie" Umekubo; sister, Ikue (Norio) Akashi of Japan; nieces, Cari (Charles) Casillas, Cathi (Brien) Nagafuchi, Aimee Yamada, Suzanne (John) Kitchens and Masako Hirai of Japan; nephews, Hiroyuki Akashi of Japan, Dennis (Sharon) and Edwin (Janice) Yamanaka; many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31, from 2:00 to 3:00PM at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden", 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 12:00PM at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating
