Masao "Matt" Matsumoto, 84, Utah-born resident of Monterey Park, passed away peacefully at his home on November 6, 2015. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy (Hospital Corpsman). After his service in the U.S. Navy, he returned to U.S.C., received his administrative and teaching credentials, and taught at various secondary schools within the LAUSD until his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Isami; son Gary (June); grandson Matthew; sister-in-law Hatsuko Matsumoto; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 East Third Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.

The family politely requests no flowers. Casual attire is requested.
