Obituary

Masami Higashigawa, 86-year-old resident of Gardena, CA., passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 4, 2018. He was born on February 6, 1932, in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii. In 1956, he came to Los Angeles to start a new life with his wife, Harumi.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jutaro & Misano Higashigawa; brother, George; and sisters, Harriet and Miyako.
He is survived by his loving wife, Harumi; daughter, Sharon (Mike); sons, Calvin (Susan) and Nathan (Corinne); seven grandchildren; and four siblings, Shigemi, Ellen, Arlene and Grace.

Masami was a veteran of the Korean War, and later pursued a career at Hi-Shear Corporation.  He loved playing softball, fishing in the Sierras, trips to Las Vegas, and following the many activities of his grandchildren. Masami's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, always spreading the spirit of Ohana.

A Celebration of life will be held at South Bay Community Church, 2549 W. 190 th St., Torrance, CA 90504 on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 am.

The family requests Casual/Aloha attire.
