Funeral services for the late Mrs. Masako Yamada, 85 year-old Seattle, Washington born Nisei resident of Los Angeles who passed away on November 27 at Monterey Park Hospital, will be held Saturday, December 8, from 9:30 a.m., at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple 505 East Third St., Los Angeles under the direction of Fukui Mortuary.
Predeceased in death by her husband, Tetsuji Yamada and daughter, Joanne Tomita.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Glenna) Yamada; son-in-law, Mas Tomita; grandchildren, Scott Yamada, Jeffrey and Jenna Tomita; brother, Takao (Chiyoko) Furumoto; sisters, Yukiko Yamanaka of Japan, Yoshiko (Henry) Ishida, Shizuko Machida of Hawaii and Setsuko (Katsuo) Watanabe; brothers-in-law, Kazuhiko and Goro (Yoko) Yamada; and also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Hawaii and Japan.
She will be remembered as a strong, compassionate woman who was devoted and loyal to her family, friends and community.
