Memorial service for Masaharu Higashi, 81-year-old Kagoshima-ken born, resident of Monterey Park who passed away on January 5, 2018 at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, was held on Thursday, Jan. 11 at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel".

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Teruko Higashi; daughter, Julie Kumiko (Takeo) Ishii; son, Roy Yuji (Vilma) Higashi; grandsons, Aron Hideo, Justin Naoki and Nolan Koji Ishii; brothers, Tatsuichi (Kinuko) Higashi and Tatsuya (Fumiko) Higashi of Japan; sister; Kazuko (Ryuji) Taiko of Japan;many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
