Family service for MASAE HIRAHARA, 90, a Kumamoto-ken born Issei who passed away peacefully at her residence in Torrance on September 5, was held on Tuesday, September 11 at the Fukui Mortuary Chapel with Rinban Noriaki Ito of Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple officiating.

She is survived by her sons, Hiromichi, Teruo Ted, Saburo Mike (Michiko), Shiro Robert, Tommy Masaru (Itsuko), Kenny Mitsuru (Noriko) and Frank Jun (Saika); daughters, Hitomi (Shozo) Kojima, Reiko (Toshiaki) Enami, Miyo Takahashi, Rose Rumi (Kent) Yamashiro, Lily Yuri Hirahara, Sayuri Judy (Douglas) Itomura, Carol Mayumi (Anthony) Hirahara-Acosta and Yuko Shelly; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Sukenao Kumabe and sister, Kaoru Kumabe, both of Japan.
