Funeral services for the late Mary Tsuruko Kinoshita, 95, Bakersfield born Nisei and long-time resident of Monterey Park, who passed away peacefully on November 27, 2016, will be held on Saturday, December 10, 1:00 pm at the Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden", 707 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles, California.
As a young child her family returned to Hiroshima, Japan where she continued her education. Following her marriage to Hajime (Harry) Kinoshita she returned to the United States. During WWII they were interned at the Amache Internment Camp in Granada, Colorado where her eldest son, Gary, was born. Following the war the family settled in Los Angeles where her second son, Kenneth, was born and where she spent the remainder of her life.
She is predeceased by her husband Hajime (Harry) Kinoshita; sister Kimiye Matsumoto and daughter-in-law Hisae Kinoshita. She is survived by her sons, Gary Setsuo (Hisae) and Kenneth Eiji, and sister Hideko Takata of Japan; and also by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
