Mark "Garfield" Takeo Kawaguchi, age 56, of Harbor City, CA died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home.

Born in San Fernando, CA on March 15, 1964 to Henry and Mitsuko Kawaguchi. Mark worked at Celestron LLC in Torrance, CA for over 20 years. Celestron is a telescope and optics manufacturing company. Prior to that, his love of photography enabled him to take pictures for friends and family for special occasions.  Mark was an avid bowler, bowling several times a week in leagues and tournaments. He had even bowled seven (7) perfect 300 games!

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Sandi Nissel (Arch) of AZ, nephew William Lubenow of CA, nephew Robert Lubenow of CA, nephew Craig (Natalie) Kawaguchi of PA, niece Stephanie Braig of PA, and niece Kimberly (Chris) Kawaguchi of NV. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry (2016), and brother, Tim (2010).

Mark requested that no memorial services be held for him. His request was to have his ashes scattered at sea. We would like to request everyone to raise awareness for prostate cancer and make a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation via https://join.manyvscancer.org/sandi-nissel .
