Memorial services for the late Mrs. Mariko Mari Higashi, an 86-year-old, Santa Monica, California-born Nisei resident of Cypress and former internee of the Gila River Relocation Camp during World War II who passed away on December 3, 2011 will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 10:00 AM at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012, officiated by Rev. Rick Iwanaga of West Covina Christian Church. Burial services will be held privately at a later date.

Beloved mother of Chuck (Tim Flannagan) Higashi, Karen (Alan) Ishii and David (Elissa) Higashi; grandmother of 7; sister of Helen C. Imamura. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
