Mae Hata was born on May 13, 1942 in Sacramento, California and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 22, 2015.
Mae moved to Los Angeles in 1962 to be a beautician and met Norman K. Hata. They were married on May 2, 1964 and enjoyed 51 wonderful years together. Mae was predeceased by her parents Fumiko and Sunao Nishio; brother Mike Nishio; and brother-in-law Ronald Muramoto of Sacramento; is survived by her loving husband Norman Kazuo Hata; son, Randy (Lisa) Hata; daughter, Audrey Hata; grandchildren, Charlotte, Sara, and Christopher Hata; siblings Norman and Stan Nishio, Joann Muramoto, Victor and Richie Nishio; and sister-in-law Aileen Nishio. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Among her favorite things were spending time with and watching her grandkids play sports, cooking delicious dishes for parties and enjoying good times in Las Vegas with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center – Toyota Meeting Hall located at 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, CA 90503 on Monday, August 17th at 11:00am.
