Obituary

Kunio Ted Iwanabe passed away December 14, 2006 due to a heart condition with complications resulting from a fall.

Kunio was a devoted husband to Amy (Emiko), loving father to Ted Jr. (Bev), cherished grandfather of Keith and Kelly, and great-grandfather of Nevaeh. Survived by sister, Aiko Ukita, brother Hideo Robert, and other nephews and nieces.

Born in Seattle, Washington, 1919, Veteran of WWII, 442nd infantry, he was a Purple Heart recipient.

Kunio will be remembered for his giving soul, generous heart, and gentle spirit. Unassuming and compassionate, he selflessly helped family and friends, never seeking recognition. Everyone who knew him was touched by his grace and kindness.

Kunio's favorite pastime was playing his ukulele and driving his white, 912 Porsche to the Santa Anita races.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Evergreen Cemetery, 204 N. Evergreen Ave., L.A., at 11:30 a.m.
