Private funeral services for the late Kumiko Sakabu, 78-year-old former resident of Montebello who passed away on March 1 in Santa Clarita, were held on March 10 at Fukui Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Seicho Asahi of Koyasan Buddhist Temple officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Hiroshi Fred Sakabu of Santa Clarita; sons, Stanley (Cindy) of St. Louis, MO, Roy (Donna) of Sacramento and Edward (Lisa) Sakabu of Santa Clarita; sisters, Grace (George) Inouye and Violet Yamauchi; brother-in-law, John M. Sakabu of Montebello; 8 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews here and in Japan.
