Obituary

Kozue Yamamoto passed away on September 7, 2024, at her home in Long Beach, two weeks before her 98th birthday.

She was born in Tanami, Wakayama Prefecture to Yasutaro and Fuku Yota on September 21, 1926. She kept her mind and her hands occupied by completing cross-stitch projects and always loved to watch Japanese sumo tournaments.

Predeceased by her husband, Kiyoshi; she is survived by her daughters, Keiko (Harmon) Fansler and Mayumi (Akinori) Kotani; grandchildren, Karen Hayashi, Norika (Joseph) Haberman, and Makoto (Kerilyn) Kotani; and great-grandchildren, Kio, Emma, and Mika. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, from 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary Chapel, 707 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
