Kimie Koyanagi, born in Kumamoto, Japan on Oct. 16, 1925 and a long-time resident of Gardena, passed away on Dec. 22 at the age of 87. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband Joe; sons, Susumu and Stan (Teri) Koyanagi; daughter, Naomi (Peter) Castner; grandchildren, Chad Koyanagi, Kyle and Chase Castner, Kevin and Kristen Koyanagi; sister, Tomoe Ueno in Japan; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2:00 P.M. at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena, CA.
