A private family graveside service with military honors was held for 100th Battalion World War II veteran, Kiichi Kenneth Kohatsu, 86, on March 25, 2006, at Rose Hills Memorial Park, under the direction of Fukui Mortuary. Born in Waipahu, Oahu, he resided in Maui, Los Angeles, and Huntington Beach.
Predeceased by his wife, Tomiko, he's survived by children, Harriet (Ken) Furuya, Irvin (Karen) Kohatsu, Gail (Jim) Ballone, Eunice McDuffee, Dorothy (Gary) Hawkins, Lois (Brian) Kato, Wayne and Steven Kohatsu; grandchildren, Kennis (Rev. Gregory) Bishop, Ryan Furuya, Jason and Jennifer Kohatsu, Jeff Ballone, Shari Saraye; sisters, Mildred Yanagihara, Carol Eurn, Clara Kawahara, Molly Yamashita; and brother, George Kohatsu.
