Kazuko Kawamoto Ishida passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023, at 94 years of age.

Kazuko (Kaz, Kazie) was born in San Diego on May 22, 1928, the fifth of six children. She was interned in Poston, Arizona during her high school years and upon returning from camp, met her future husband, Yukio. In 1946 they married and settled in Pasadena.

Kazuko was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed her family and friends. She was artistic and creative and decorated her home with flourish, created gourmet meals, and designed and sewed wedding gowns for 9 brides. In addition, she worked as a beautician from 1965 until her retirement.

Kazuko is predeceased by her husband and four brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Fusa Shimizu and sister-in-law Mits Kawamoto. She is also survived by her son, Chrys Ishida (Nancy) and her three daughters, Jane Sattari (Kaveh), Emi Iwanaga (Richard), Kerry Kawano (Don); nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
