Private memorial services for the late Mr .Katsuo Yamanaka, an 88 year old resident of San Gabriel who passed away on September 1, 2010 were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden", officiated by Rimban Hiroshi Abiko of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Mr. Yamanaka was predeceased by his son Dennis Yamanaka. He is survived by his wife Fumi Yamanaka; children, Susan (David) Yonai, Debbie (John) Yee, and Gary (Patricia Higuchi) Yamanaka; grandchildren Jason, Shannon, Brandon and Aaron Yonai; Alan and Kristine Yee; brother Minoru (Machiko) Yamanaka and sister Kiyoko Arai of Japan; sister-in-law Kaoru Oka. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
