A funeral service for the late Mr. Katsumi "Kats" Richard Takai, an 85-year-old, San Francisco, California-born Sansei resident of Monterey Park, former internee of Rohwer Relocation Camp during WWII who honorably served his country in the US Army and who passed away on January 30, 2014 was held privately at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev. Kaz Nakata of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Mr. Takai is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Kikuko Takai. Devoted father of Juli (David) Meyers and Mark (Linda) Takai; proud grandfather of Michael and James Takai; loving brother of Reiko and Kenji (Emi) Takai. Also survived by many other relatives.
