Kaoru (Karl) Miyahata, age 92, passed away on January 25, 2021 at Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra. He was predeceased by his wife, Cathy. He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Kawamoto), Kari Miyahata, Lori (Masuda) and Tammie Miyahata; grandchildren, Craig, Kellie, Matthew, Hayley, Richard and Katherine; sister, Yae Miyahata and other relatives.
Karl Miyahata was born in Pasadena, CA and attended Maryknoll School-Los Angeles. His family was interned at Heart Mountain, Wyoming during WWII. After graduating from Davis High School in Kaysville, UT, he enlisted into the Army and served as a Sargent in the Korean War. Karl returned to Los Angeles and completed trade school to be a Radio and Television Repairman. He met and married Cathy Shigeko Shoda. Karl was employed at Boy's Market for many years and later became self-employed/owner of Art's Liquor Mart, until he retired.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, watching sports and going to the casinos. He will be dearly missed.
Private gravesite services were held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
