Mr. Kaizo Nishi, age 103, passed away peacefully at his home in Torrance, California on December 22, 2008. He was born in Kaseda, Kagoshima, Japan and came to the U.S. in 1924. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Koko; sons Katsuya Kay (Lila) and Dr. Hiroyuki (Debbie) of Torrance, daughters Nobuko (Tom) Okada of Rolling Hills, and Sumiko (late Dr. Tsujio) Kato of Oxnard; grandchildren Dr. Kai and Keri Nishi, Koko Nishi, Kristina Akemi Nishi, Yoshio and Dr. Jackie Okada, Midori (Stefan) Lammel, Denise Kato, Dean Kato, Kenji Kato, seven great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and relatives here, in Japan and Brazil.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28th at 5 p.m. at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena.
