Junko Ruth (Ruthie) Kitagawa, 83, resident of Alhambra passed away November 16.

Ruthie is predeceased by her sister, Teruko Lois and brother-in-law, Elman Padilla and is survived by stepmother, Eiko; brother, David (Kathleen) Kitagawa; sister, Cathy Kitagawa-Yamasaki; nephews, Wesley and Bryce Kitagawa, Kyle and Ryan Yamasaki; and many other relatives and friends.

Ruthie will be remembered by family and friends for her love of arts and crafts, cats, teaching origami at Japanese American National Museum, and her ability to spread happiness through her joyful smile and laughter.

Due to the COVID-19 condition, the family will have a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles at a future date.
