Junichi Katayama, resident of Boyle Heights for over 60 years, passed away at home on September 10, 2020 at the age of 87.  He was born December 1, 1932 in Waki, Yamaguchi-ken, Japan. He worked in a bakery for most of his career.  He was the 2nd son and is survived by two brothers and three sisters in Japan.   He had many wonderful neighbors who looked after him towards the end of life.  He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and concern for others.  There will be no funeral service due to Covid-19.  He was cremated and ashes scattered at sea.
