Private funeral services for the late Mrs. June Nishimura, an 84 year old Los Angeles, California-born Nisei resident of Arleta who passed away on April 24 were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Pastor Roland Hazama of San Fernando Valley Holiness Church. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.


June is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Nishimura; beloved sister of Kaz; children, Steven (Evelyn) Nishimura, Norine (Greg Priestley) Nishimura; and Chris (Charlene) Nishimura; grandchildren, Nicole (Edmund Ie), Kimberly, Lisa and Alex. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.


June was a social worker at Keiro Nursing Home prior to joining the Los Angeles Unified School District where she proudly served as a teacher until her retirement. June enjoyed a full life of traveling, raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren.
