June Atsuko Matsumoto (nee Shintani) passed away on November 19, 2012. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School (1954) and UCLA (1958). June was UCLA Homecoming Princess in 1957 and Nisei Week Princess in 1958. She taught third grade in Santa Monica. June married Kenneth K. Matsumoto on January 17th, 1960. She was very active in education and the arts, including the L.A. County Museum of Art.

June is survived by Dr. Kenneth K. Matsumoto, loving husband, their children, Reiko (Michael), George (Kirsten), Kimi (Patrick), David (Jennifer), and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Ilene Miyahara and Judy (Roy) Uehara and many loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 9th at 2:00 pm at the Hompa Hongwanji Temple, 815 East First St. in Los Angeles, followed by a dinner reception at Empress Pavillion restaurant, 988 N. Hill Street. The family requests, in lieu of koden or flowers, donations can be made to the Japanese American National Museum or your favorite charitable organization
