June Cecilia Katayama, 91, passed away peacefully in San Diego on Tuesday, April 18.

She was the beloved wife of the late Hideo Katayama. She leaves behind children Frederick, Andrew, Stephen, and Patricia Mari and grandchildren Kristin, Helena, Justin and Michael.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Tokyo, she graduated from Joshi Seigakuin Junior College and taught calligraphy. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 24, 10 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, 222 S. Hewitt St., Los Angeles. Burial service is private. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Church Japanese Catholic Center (Maryknoll).
