John Koichi Ohara, 93, resident of Los Angeles and U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. A private funeral service was held on April 16 at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” with Reverend Taiso Matsumoto of Koyasan Beikoku Betsuin of Los Angeles officiating.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Jo Ann Ohara; daughters, Tammy (Michael) Sakasegawa and Janet Ohara; grandsons, Makoto and Shin Sakasegawa; also survived by relatives in Japan and Sacramento.
