Private services for the late John Yamao Nishizu, 97-year-old, Los Angeles, CA born, resident of Monterey Park, who passed away on August 3, 2017, were held on Friday, August 11 at Fukui Mortuary Chapel in Los Angeles.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Trudes Tsuyako (Osajima) Nishizu of 68 years; he is survived by his children, Steven (Mariko) Nishizu, Gay (Mark) Rutherford, Joyce (David) Tanimoto, and Norman (Tracy) Nishizu; grandchildren, Evan, Jared, Casey, Jenna, Chad, Cameron, Jake, Brooke, and Devon; brother, Henry Nishizu; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family requests, in lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, donations be made to Heart Mountain Relocation Center, Manzanar National Historical Site or Little Tokyo Service Center.
