Obituary
John Shoji Kataoka, 87 year-old, Los Angeles born Nisei, from Boyle Heights and former internee of Heart Mountain during WWII passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, June 17th 2014 from natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at 1847 14th Street in Santa Monica CA on June 28th 2014 at 10am. He enjoyed his various sports but especially loved baseball and motor racing. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mutsuko.
He is the loving father of Russell and grandfather of Samantha and Ryan. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
