John Dennis "Jack" Mahoney,  a 90-year-old Christchurch, New Zealand-born long-time resident of Los Angeles,  passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018. Jack married Isabel J. McCarthy on August 24, 1966 in Las Vegas, NV.  He worked as a newspaper photographer in Sydney, Australia until he moved to the USA on an athletic scholarship to study at Arizona State University then moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1957.  He worked at the University of Southern California for 34 years and was the director of Instructional Media Services, USC Cinema Department until his retirement in 1991.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years,  Isabel Mahoney; brother,  Peter (Theresa) Mahoney of Petaluma, CA.   Also survived his dear friend Xiaoxia Wu of San Jose, CA, his loving caregiver Alfred Villaruel of Buena Park, CA and  by 4 nieces and 1 nephew in both Petaluma, CA and Australia.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held privately.
