John K . Ito , age 100, passed away peacefully in his home on December 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Los Angeles, California on May 26, 1916, the younger of two children of Tadao and Toki Kamachi. When he was 8 years old, his mother remarried to Masashige Ito , who adopted both John and his sister, Mary. John was interned at Gila, AZ for several years during World War II and later served in the US Army. On November 14, 1947, John married Michiko Sally Sata in Los Angeles. In 1958 they established their home in Sun Valley, CA. John and Michi were married for 64 years until her death on June 8, 2011. John is survived by his four children: Kathleen, Jonathan (Darlene), Bruce (Daniela) and Larry (Josefina), ten grandchildren: Travis, Daren, Jason (Mona), Adam (Tran), Mitchell, Michelle, Markus, Andrea, Danielle, and Nicholas, and two great grandchildren: Tyler and Yasmeen. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and long-time caregiver, Mary Sata, and well as many cherished nieces and nephews and their families. Family and friends are invited to celebrate John 's life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 4th, at 11:00 AM at the Crossway Church, 9610 Haddon Ave., Pacoima, CA.
