Joanne Michiko Ota, age 83, passed away on March 26, 2023.  She was born in 1939 to parents John Minoru and Sydney Shidsuo Ota in Wyoming, but soon moved to Los Angeles where she spent most of her life. She had a career as a legal secretary and spent her time teaching ballroom, being her son Ward's Boy Scout troop leader, being her son Garrett's unofficial law firm promoter, and competitively dancing hula alongside her daughter Patti and granddaughter Kaylee. She is survived by her three children: Patti (Malo), Ward, and Garrett (Julie); four grandchildren: Kyle, Kaylee, Sydney, and Harper; brother James; and partner Willy.

Her celebration of life will be held at later date.
