Joanne Atsuko Higa, 75-year-old, Hilo, Hawaii-born resident of Monterey Park, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband, Minoru Higa; daughter, Lynn Higa; son, Neil Higa; sister, Myrtle (Lowell) Terada; and brother, Dennis (Roberta) Miyashiro; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Hawaii.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, from 9 AM to 10 AM at Montebello Plymouth Congregational Church, 144 S. Greenwood Ave., Montebello, CA 90640. A memorial service will immediately follow at 10 AM. Casual attire may be worn. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
