Reverend Jiro James Morishita, born on February 16, 1961 in Los Angeles, son of Reverend Keigo Morishita and the late Yaeko Morishita, died peacefully on August 30, 2009 surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay, and three children; Raymond, Amy and Aya; his father and family of 8 siblings.

As Head Minister of Tenrikyo Brotherhood Church since 1996, he served tirelessly, and with great spirit as a missionary in his community as well as across the globe. As the General Manager of the Tenri Judo Dojo in Los Angeles, his strength was only matched by his spiritual conduct.
