JEAN A. TANAKA, age 84 of Cypress, California, passed away on March 18. She was the daughter of Joichi and Shizuka Shimazu, and she was the youngest of five children. She worked nearly five decades in the grocery industry, including numerous years as a sign-painter for Albertsons Markets.

She is survived by spouse, Roy M. Tanaka; children, Lynda (John Schechter)Tanaka, Bruce T. (Kathryn Cristofol)Tanaka and Vickie K. (Tom) Haring; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Benjamin K. (Mae) Shimazu; also survived by twenty-four nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Public funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 11:00 AM at Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. First St., Los Angeles, California.
