Jean Harue Furuya
April 8, 1940 – May 6, 2025

A Celebration of Life service for Jean (Ito) Furuya, 85, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10 am to 1:30 pm at South Bay Community Church, 2549 W 190th Street in Torrance, CA 90504.

Jean was born in Seattle, WA and made her way to Los Angeles in the late 40s, graduating from Roosevelt High School. A faithful and loving woman of God, she was active in her church, Girl Scout leader for two troops, a tireless organizer of resources for those in need, and a leader and mentor in the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing. She started her own consultancy, The Office Jeanie, coaching businesses and individuals for over 35 years.

Her husband, Monte Furuya; daughters, Yasuko Furuya (Marc Vigo) and Chie (Phil) Chap; grandchildren, Camille and Ethan Chap; and extended family and friends will miss her optimism, generosity and zest for life!
