It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Yuriko Yamada, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother. 102 years old, Kauai, HI born, resident of Gardena, Calif.  She went home to the Lord on April 13, 2021 to be with husband James, her 4 brothers and 2 sisters, daughter-in-law Toni.

After moving permanently to Gardena in 2005, she volunteered at the Gardena Japanese Cultural Institute in their lunch program where she made many new friends.  She also attended Faith United Methodist Church and their WISH Bible Study. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to her wonderful caregivers Millie, JaJa, Emily, Virgi and Darwin at Royal Palms Villas for the excellent and loving care she received during her stay.

Janet is survived by her sons Alvin (Janet K.) Yamada of Gardena and Ronald Yamada of Hawaii; granddaughters, Lisa Yamada, Jennifer Yamada; grandson Joshua (Christina D.) Yamada; great-grandson James Yamada and many nieces, nephews, relatives.

She will be interred in Punchbowl HI along with her husband.  A celebration-of-life service will be held on a later date.
