A private service was held for the late Janet Akiko Murakami (93) on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Green Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Clifford Ishigaki officiating. Mrs. Murakami passed peacefully on October 8, 2011. Born in Wailuku on Maui, Hawaii, she had been residing in Gardena, California.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Susumu Murakami; survived by beloved daughters, Amy (Jeff) Shimizu, Karen (Dennis) Ishiki, Christine (Eugene) Hamayasu and Tanya (Steve West) Murakami; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ishiki, Lisa Ishiki, Aaron Shimizu, Ryan Shimizu and Ian Hamayasu; her brother, Kenneth (Jean) Higuchi of Hawaii. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Hawaii.
