James Hiroshi Uyehara passed away peacefully on March 28, 2014 after a valiant and lengthy battle with dementia. He was 81 and was a long-time resident at Sunny Hills Assisted Living in West Los Angeles. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean. He is survived by his children, Lee, Toni and Ed, ex-wife, Avis, five grand children and other relatives.

James was the proud founder and owner of Martial Arts Supplies, which was the first of its kind back in the 1970s.

Private services at sea have been held. The family respectfully requests that koden be omitted, or if desired, please make local donation in James' name.
