MR. JAMES MAKOTO OGAWA, 93, Riverside, CA born Nisei, resident of Gardena and US Army Veteran of the 442 ^nd Regimental Combat Team/100 ^th Battalion, C Company, Congressional Gold Medal recipient, passed away peacefully on March 3, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Yuri Akune Ogawa; daughters, Debbie Ogawa, Jan (Rick) Fukunaga, Stephanie (Rick) Nakayama, Sharie (Harry) Tom, and Stacie (David) Inana; grandchildren, Jake and Gina Fukunaga, Matthew Nakayama, Ethan and Cami Tom and Samantha Inana, also survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives.

Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 15, at 10:00 AM at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W. 158 ^th St., Gardena, CA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Go For Broke National Education Center.
The family also requests casual aloha attire.
