James Jin Kobayashi, age 91, born in San Bernardino, CA, WWII veteran of the 442nd, F Co., resident of Gardena, passed away peacefully on Wed. January 2, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mae Kobayashi; children, Kurtis (Frankie) Kobayashi, Peggy Ito, Connie (Steve) Tomita and Gloria (Michael) Sonoda; grandchildren, Alissa Nakaji, Kenneth (Kathy) Ito, Michael Ito, Lisa Tomita, Leighann Tomita, Trevor Sonoda and Tanner Sonoda; great grandchild, Justin Ito; sister, Tomi (James) Mayeda; predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Kaye (Jim) Tatsukawa and Hana (Kim) Nitake.

Funeral service will be held on Sat. January 12, 2013, from 11 a.m. at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W. 158th St., Gardena, CA 90247.
