A private viewing was held on April 27, 2013 to celebrate the life of Jack Tomoaki Nakamine who passed away on April 6, 2013. Jack was born on June 9, 1920 and was a long time resident of Southern California. After the war, he established a successful career as a gardener/landscaper from which he retired at age 89. Jack also enjoyed traveling with his family, reading, and following USC football.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Midori (Utsuki) Nakamine and his sister Ruthie Yoshida. He is survived by his children: Louise (Rodney Soong) Nakamine, Joanne (Sam Sarria) Nakamine-Sarria, and John (Lisa) Nakamine; grandchildren: Angela Soong, Alyson Soong, Kyle Sarria, Kelly Sarria, Shannon Nakamine and Kylie Nakamine; siblings: Tom Nakamine, Toe (Julia) Nakamine, Peggy Johnson and Mary (Ko) Yamaguchi; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
