Irene Ginoza, our beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend, entered heaven peacefully on November 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer and liver disease.
Irene was born in Honolulu on March 13, 1951. She attended Kalani High School before studying education at University of Hawaii and at University of Oregon.
In 1977, she met Milton Ginoza in Honolulu and they married two years later. Their lives were blessed when their daughter, Lori, was born in 1981. The family left Hawaii in 1989 and settled in Montebello, California.
Irene enjoyed a long and productive career as an office manager at Metropolitan Life, where she enjoyed the friendship of her co-workers from Oregon, Hawaii, and California.
Irene's pride and joy was her family, and she loved preparing meals for them. She was a consummate cook, well-known for her desserts and large collection of cookbooks. Generous of heart, Irene innately understood how to provide comfort through her cooking and will be remembered for so many such acts of kindness.
Irene is survived by her husband, Milton; her daughter, Lori; and a large, extended family in California and Hawaii.
In her last years of life, Irene was blessed by many who cared for her. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to every body who cared for her and them. Your outpouring of support, friendship and kindness has been, and continues to be, a source of strength and joy.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 10:00 a.m. at Mission Valley Free Methodist Church, 1201 S San Gabriel Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91776
