Private funeral services for the late Mrs. Ida Sasaki, an 86-year-old resident of Canoga Park who passed away on November 4, 2011, were held on November 12, 2011 at Fukui Mortuary. Rimban Hiroshi Abiko of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiated.
Mrs. Sasaki, a Kibei-Sansei, was born on March 8, 1925 and grew up in Redondo Beach, Japan and Compton before being interned at Jerome and Tule Lake Relocation Camps. After the war she lived in Chicago for several years before returning to California in 1952.
Mrs. Sasaki is survived by her husband of 55 years, Minoru Sasaki; children, Leela (Paul Certa) Sasaki of Washington State and John (Donna) Sasaki. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Illionois, New York, Oregon and Hawaii.
