Funeral services for the late Ichiro Nakajima, 95-year-old, California born resident of Los Angeles, who passed away on July 22, 2013, will be held on Saturday, August 3, 10 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church 300 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles.
He co-owned Empire Printing Company with his brother, Toshio for over 70 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary N. Nakajima; daughters, Frances Kiku Shibuya, Karen (Michael) Dote, Kay (Richard) Yang, and Janice Yuki (Jun) Date; grandchildren, Kioko (Douglas) Cox, Jon (Lauren) Shibuya, Gary and Lisa Dote, Lauren and Kyle (Emily) Yang, and Christopher (Peggy) and Caitlin Date; 5 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ichiro's memory to his church, Centenary United Methodist Church 300 S. Central Ave., L.A., CA 90013 or the Japanese American Optimist Club 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
