Husako Kawabata (née Hirai), passed away peacefully on November 9, 2022 at the age of 91.  Husako lived in Westminster, CA for 61 years.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Futoshi Kawabata.

Husako is survived by her five children Maym (Byron) Flynt, Lynn (Chuck) Heald, Kyle Kawabata, Ryne (Christine) Kawabata, and Gail (Jim) Naughton as well as six grandchildren, Brad and Heather Flynt, Aimee and Kevin Kawabata, and Declan and Cathlin Naughton.  She will also be missed by a multitude of friends and other family members.

Husako will always be remembered as a gracious and kind woman who was quick with a smile and a laugh.  She was a professional seamstress in her early life which is how she met her husband and she sewed clothes for her children when they were young.  She was also a wonderful cook and dedicated mother who will be sorely missed.

A private service will be held on February 4, 2023 at Orange County Buddhist Church.
