Funeral services for the late Mr. Hiroshi Uyehara, 89 year-old, Waipahu, HI born Nisei, resident of Los Angeles who passed away peacefully on February 3, 2013, will be held on Friday, February 15th, 7:30 pm at Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 12371 Braddock Drive, Culver City. Additional parking will be available at the Venice Japanese Community Center on Braddock Drive west of Centinela Ave.
Hiroshi Uyehara and his wife Chiyoko were the former owners of Aloha Grocery and Aloha Tofu on Centinela Avenue in Los Angeles for 44 years, closing their doors in 2001.
He is survived by his loving family; wife, Chiyoko Uyehara; children, Katherine (Ruchi) Nakamura, Wayne (Diana), Gail and Tommy (Lynne) Uyehara; five grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Yayono Hashimoto and Yoneko (Yoshiaki) Machino, both of Japan; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
